Remaining Public Events for 2016

Firstly the bad news! For all our fans in the Whitehill and Bordon area, I am sorry to report that we will not now be attending your Summer activity day on 13 August 2016. This is due to issues outside of our control, (they forgot to book us and are now full). However we understand that there will be an Assault course, climbing wall, Farm animals, inflatable rides, a BBQ and much, much more. The day is being held at Forest Community Centre, Bordon GU35 0BS, starting at 10 am and closes at 4 pm. All at Battlefield South wish your event every success and hope you will have an amazing day.

Don’t feel you are missing out, as we are still planning to attend the Bordon School Fete on 25th September 2016, (more news on that to follow).

dorset funday 2016So our next public event is now the 14th August 2016 at The Hamworthy Club, Magna Road, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset BH21 3AP. We believe parking is free (but don’t hold us to that) and entrance is £1 for adults under 14 are free. There will be live music all day, food (inc wood fired pizza), drink, and craft stalls, inflatable attractions fair rides and Battlefield South. The day starts at 11am and closes at 4pm. It looks to be a great day out for all the family so why not come down and join us.

Then on 21st August, we will (for the first time), be at the SERP 2000 Family fun day being held at the Sherfield English Sports Field  SO51 6JR.The day starts at midday and closes at about 4 pm. There will be music, food drink, and craft stalls, inflatable attractions, children’s rides, and of course Battlefield South. All profits go to local causes so why not pop along and have a great day out in a lovely village fete.

Spreading our wings a little on Mytchett fun day 201629th August 2016 we will be at the Mytchett Summer Family Fun day,. Being held at the Mytchett Community centre, 140 Mytchett Road Surrey, GU16 6AA. There is a Car boot sale in the morning, and the Fun Day opens at 1pm and closes at 5pm, with all the usual craft, food and drink stalls.  Classic cars, inflatable rides, children’s rides and games and even a licensed bar. Not forgetting of course Battlefield South.  

Bordon school 201625th September as above we are attending the Bordon School summer fete. Being held at Bordon Junior school, Budds Lane, Bordon GU35 0JB. There will be Donkey rides, (I would say from Hayling Island but that is just where the donkeys are coming from, not where you would be riding from). Inflatable attractions, a Beer Tent, Food, Drink and craft stalls, Trampolines, Music and much more. The day starts at 11 am and closes at 3pm. There should be loads of parking so come along and have some fun.

Too much information? Don’t worry, we will be posting information about each event as they approach by way of a reminder, however get the dates in your calendar now, to avoid disappointment later.

Bridgemary Carnival 10th Anniversary

Its almost here, the 10th anniversary of the Bridgemary carnival, and BMary 2016aBattlefield South will be there! On Saturday 16th July Bridgmary carnival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. The procession starts at 11.30 am and takes approximately an hour to complete the route.  Then the fun and games go on until about 4pm when the raffle is drawn. There will be lots of arena events, consisting of gymnastics, pom pom display, a choir, martial arts display, and much more all compared by the local Haslar Radio. There should be about 50 arts, crafts, food and beverage stalls, and many attractions including inflatable’s and of course Battlefield South. Parking is extensive  and as is the entrance. So we look forward to seeing you there.

BMary 2016 route
If you just want to watch the parade, the route leaves Bridgemary School, and turns left and follows Wych Lane to the junction with Brading Avenue, and Bewers Lane. It then turns left on to Bewer Lane and left again onto Nobes Avenue. At the top of Nobes Avenue it turns left again on to  Gregson Avenue and then left back on to Wych , where it turns left back into the school.

What an Armed Forces weekend.

IMG_0303We have been busy, busy, busy, over the last month or so, and last weekend was a real highlight, with Whitehall and Bordon Festival on Saturday 25 June 2016, and then Surrey Armed Forces Day at Loseley  Park, Guildford on Sunday 26 June 2016. Thank you to everyone who IMG_0317came and played and supported both events, as the weather was not always at its best. A special thanks must go to Mrs L Hyett of Hampshire ABF, Cannon P Bruinvels, Surrey ABF, Mr B Thomas Surrey ABF, Mr Curtis Bone and so many more IMG_0320who welcomed us to the events, and made us feel so at home.  At the end of the day at Loseley Park, on Sunday because the Surrey and Hampshire Marine Cadets had worked so hard we held off from de rigging the attraction and allowed them to have some fun. (See inserted pictures, sorry we couldn’t put them all up).

So what is to come? Well on Friday 1st July we will be at The Medina School Summer fayre, being held at Medina school, Medina Road Cosham Portsmouth. The fayre starts at 3 pm and closes at 5pm and although open to the public it is mainly for the school children and parents.  

On Saturday 2nd July we will be at the Hedge end Carnival. This is a really fun event. The theme this year is “crazy cartoons” with a procession, a funfair, cake competition, craft stalls, food and drink stalls, inflatable rides and lots to do and see. Not forgetting Battlefield South.  So why not pop along and support the event. The Saturday events start at 12 midday ish and end at 5pm.

IMG_4093Closing the weekend on Sunday we will be at what was to be The Milton Park Family Fun Day, however due to circumstances beyond the organisers control the venue has had to be moved to the Playing Fields Of The Lord Nelson School, Dundas  Lane, Portsmouth. Opening at 10 am and closing at 3 pm the even boasts all sorts of inflatable attractions, craft stalls, food and drink stalls, and not forgetting Battlefield South.

Although it would be nice to see you at all the events, realistically, we would be delighted to see you at any one of them.

Town Park Festival and Wartime Wallop!

Our next public events are on 28 and 30 May, and what great events we have lined up for you !

Town Park FestivalFirstly on 28 May 2016 we will be attending the Town Park Festival, being held at Town Park Alton. In aid of The Rhiannon Trust, the day kicks off at 10 am and ends at 6 pm. There will be all kinds of food, drink and craft stalls, with children’s entertainment, inflatable rides, bouncy castles Live music, and not forgetting Battlefield South. Entry is free and it is looking to be a fantastic day.

Then on the 30 May 2016, we will be at Wartime Wallop. Wartime WallopHeld at the Museum of Army Flying, next to the home of the Army Air Corp near Middle Wallop, this will be a day not to be missed.  The museum will be open as usual with all its indoor and outdoor static displays as well as rein actors. Classic military vehicles, including a Willy’s Jeep, 1941 Chevrolet CMP 17 pdr Gun Tractors, 1942 Daimler Dingo Armoured scout car.  Craft, food and drink stalls, inflatable attractions, and the Royal Artillery will be giving a blank firing display during the day, (that should be something not to be missed in its self).Then to top it all off Battlefield South will also be there. The day starts at 10am and the event closes at  4:30pm. Tickets are £15 for adults, and £10 for concessions (OAP, kids), and £5 for service personnel (on production of MOD90).

The season starts here!

With less than 30 Days to go to our first public event of the season we are gearing up and testing all the show equipment. This year we are kicking  off with a marathon week end, starting at the Surrey Heath Show, on Saturday 30 April.

Surrey H showThe Surrey Heath show as usual is being held at Frimley Lodge Park, is open from 10am to 4pm, As  always there will be attractions for the whole family with classic vehicles, food, drink and craft stalls, local radio, and arena shows. There is lots for the younger children, with inflatable rides, climbing wall, the resident miniature railway, and of course for the older children  (8 to 80 years of age) Battlefield South. Entry is free (£3 for parking), so if you are in the area why not pop along, and have a look around.

supermarine_spitfire-284x300On the 1st May, we are off to the Abingdon Air and country Show. Held at the Abingdon Airfield this is a great day out, with both air and ground displays. The air displays Include gyro copters, spitfires, helicopters and a host of other aircraft. The ground displays include Flight simulators, fun fair rides, tank rides and of course Battlefield South. With profits from the show go to the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, it is a must. The day starts at 10 am and closes at 5:30 pm. Tickets prices are  £12 for adults and £8 for those  65 years and over and £4 for 5-15 year olds. Tickets can be purchased from their web site (click here) of you can pay at the gate on the day.

St Mary's 2012Then to round off the bank holiday weekend, on 2nd May we will be at the St Mary’s church community fayre at St Mary’s Church , Fratton. As always profits we be going to local community funds. Entry is free, and there are craft, food and cake stalls, funfair rides, a beer tent, area events and displays , live music, and Battlefield South. The day starts at 10 am and closes at 4 pm. It is a great day out, and the local causes are well worth the fun to be had.
