Look what’s next

After a fun packed (if rather damp) Bank Holiday weekend At the Surrey Heath Show, Abdingdon Air and Country Show then on the Monday at St Mary’s Church Fratton, we had a show free weekend this week.  We were however  looking forward to better weather at the Portsmouth Dragon Boat Festival being held on the Dragon Boat Race16th and 17th May (next weekend). However due to circumstances beyond their control they have had to postpone the event. It is now scheduled to be run on the 3rd and 4th of October 2015. So watch this space for news and updates.

This leaves us with a Saturday, free however we are busy looking to see if we can fill it with another event. If we are successful in finding another event we will post the details on here and on our Facebook page as usual.

We are busy with private events after this weekend, however we do have another new event for you, and this should really wet your appetites. We have been invited to take part the this year’s Milland Food, Drink & Music Festival, being held in the village of Milland, West Sussex on 30 May 2015. There will be bouncy castles, inflatable slides, Reodo bull, old style fairground rides, Face painting and this year Battlefield South. There may also be the odd cake and craft stalls, beer tent and music.  Parking is Free and although 5 minute walk away from the event, there are  free shuttle busses, and a £5 entrance fee for over 12 year olds. The event is from 10 am  to 10 pm, and profit from the event goes to local groups and good causes. From what we have been able to learn about the event it is a picture post card village and a great day out, so why not come along, enjoy the atmosphere and have a game or two with us.

Still to be confirmed On the 7th June if you are a petrol head, we are planning a visit to Breamor House, Fordingbridge for the Wessex Car Show. Last year there was over 700 cars there, with cake and  craft stalls, auto jumble, live music, inflatable castles, and rides model aircraft  flying displays and much much more.

To add to the excitement of June Battlefield South will attending the Titchfield Summer Carnival again this year. It is only on one day this year (21st  June), so miss it and you will miss out. There will be lots of activities for the whole family, including Live music, craft stalls, and no doubt wellie throwing, tug of war, and more. So why not come along and have some fun.

To top off the month of June, and in conjunction with “Armed Forces day” we will be celebrating the long standing relationship between the British Army and Bordon. With the garrison due to close the small village which over the last 100 plus years has been bolstered by the garrison into a sizable town, will once again and possibly for the last time share the day with a “Farewell to the garrison event”. The Corp of  Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers will be given the freedom of the town, where they will Bordon's Farewell to the Garriosn Armed Forces Day Logoparade and fix bayonets prior to Marching back to the Garrison. The  day looks to be outstanding, with all sorts of activities and attractions taking place during the day. The event starts at the memorial at 11 am and the attractions start at 12 until 5 pm at Budds sports ground. We understand that there is a small entrance fee to the sports ground but all the activities, (bar, cake, food  and  craft stalls are not included) are free to those attending. Well worth a trip out in anyone book!
