Looking forward to The Woodlands Country Show and more

Last Saturday we were at the Warsash   pte party crop Festival, and we must say a big thank you to all of you who managed to find is tucked away at the back of the show next to the pony rides. We hope you had a great time.  We are sorry to report however, that  we are now without our latest recruit Private P. Arty, who is still upset at not winning the scarecrow competition at the  Festival. It could be said that it did knock the stuffing out of him, and he has fallen apart since. Our best wishes go to him for a speedy recovery.

But the summer doesn’t stop there. With the lovely weather the Woodlands Showevents are coming thick and fast, and next weekend we are local again at the “Woodlands Country Show” . This year it is being held at the Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley, Southampton SO31 9DQ. The event is on both Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th, which starts at 10am and closes at 5 pm each day, has something for the whole family. We understand that the medieval re-enactors will be there giving swordsmanship displays. Also there will be falconry displays, ferret racing, chainsaw carving, all sorts of craft, food  and drink stalls and much, much, more. Not forgetting Battlefield South will be there .

Then the following weekend we will be a little further afield, at the Storrington  Summer Festival. Storrington The festival runs from 17th to 19th  (Friday 6 pm to 10pm, Saturday 10 am to 10 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 6pm), and will have, food, drink (regional beers, cider and craft Lagers) as well as  live music, craft, cake, and jam stalls.. There will also be a “Kids Zone” with redo bull, inflatable rides, craft, cake, and jam stalls, and of course Battlefield South will be there. Oh and don’t forget the  beer tent.  It is a lovely village with lots to see and do, so why not add it to your diary as it is well worth a visit.

The summer season is over

Well the summer season has finally come to an end and the team are looking forward to a short break from county shows, themed shows, fetes, extravaganzas, fayres, and alike. Not that we will be sitting around with nothing to do, as there are still corporate events, and private parties to cover.  So if you are thinking of a birthday, stag or Hen party, a corporate training day or just a fun day for your staff, remember to book early and avoid disappointment.

Getting back to the news, we have had a very busy summer this year with trips to The Army Show in Aldershot, Heroes at Highclere Castle, and events closer to home QE country park, Titchfield, Eastleigh, and Hiltingbury. With this we have seen some old staff move on and new staff come in. Ble4_cropImageSliderAs such we would like to say a big “Well Done and Thank You to  Sam, and Joe”. Thank you for your hard work over the last couple of years, and we wish you the very best with college / University and for the future.

Additionally  we would like to say a big welcome to Seb, George and Callum. They all joined us over the last couple of months,  and we hope you enjoyed your time with us  so far, although I know some of the early morning have been a pain. That said the H&K MP5’s, MP5K,  G36, AR 15, and AK47 where good fun while we had them on loan.

So here we are in October, having a short rest bite andHighclere Castle soon we will be working on our list for next summer events, and then processing them to ensure we will be at a show near you.

If you missed it you missed out!

pan2What an event “Heroes at Highclere” was last weekend, and Battlefield South was right in the thick of it.  Just some of the attractions were the Red Devils Parachute display team showed off their skills both in freefall and under canopy. Then some amazing air displays from a group of WWI Bi and Tri planes, with some very professional synchronised and formation flying. They then went on to provide a spectacular air combat and dog fighting display.

Later in the day we were entertained by a Spitfire and Mustang, looping and turning around the castle and its grounds, as only they can. The spitfire with it Rolls Royce Merlin engine creating an unforgettable roar, and with the grace and pose of the air frame, twisting and turning, along with the Mustang and its sharp lines and brute force looks, creating an aerial ballet.  Then to close the air show the “Sally B”, B17 flying fortress gracefully swooped and Battle-Proms_Cavalry-displays_cropImageSliderturned with the bomb bay doors open. That was just in the air! On the ground there were Calvary displays, a charity Football match, Fun Fair, arts and crafts, re-enactments of everything WWI and WWII. From troops and weapons, to digging for Victory and Land girls. They was even an ARP Vehicle and rescue set up.

On the stage were various singing artists with the Spitfire Girls performing some memorable tunes from the 40’s, and the show was closed by Alexandra Burke with some of her latest hits. In between acts there was entertainment in the other tents and bars with dancers dressed in period costumes. It truly was a great day out and well worth the entrance fee. Did I mention Battlefield South was there?

However if you missed that, fear not because at the end of August, it is back. Allegedly for the last time, it’s the big one (for Gosport), it is the finale. As always entrance is free, with live music, arts and crafts stalls, fair ground rides, and Battlefield South,  Forton Fest 2014 is coming.  So book the date in your Forton fest 2014diary, and make sure you don’t miss out.

Did I mention Battlefield South will be there?
