Its almost here, the 10th anniversary of the Bridgemary carnival, and Battlefield South will be there! On Saturday 16th July Bridgmary carnival will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. The procession starts at 11.30 am and takes approximately an hour to complete the route. Then the fun and games go on until about 4pm when the raffle is drawn. There will be lots of arena events, consisting of gymnastics, pom pom display, a choir, martial arts display, and much more all compared by the local Haslar Radio. There should be about 50 arts, crafts, food and beverage stalls, and many attractions including inflatable’s and of course Battlefield South. Parking is extensive and as is the entrance. So we look forward to seeing you there.
If you just want to watch the parade, the route leaves Bridgemary School, and turns left and follows Wych Lane to the junction with Brading Avenue, and Bewers Lane. It then turns left on to Bewer Lane and left again onto Nobes Avenue. At the top of Nobes Avenue it turns left again on to Gregson Avenue and then left back on to Wych , where it turns left back into the school.

What an Armed Forces weekend.

We have been busy, busy, busy, over the last month or so, and last weekend was a real highlight, with Whitehall and Bordon Festival on Saturday 25 June 2016, and then Surrey Armed Forces Day at Loseley Park, Guildford on Sunday 26 June 2016. Thank you to everyone who came and played and supported both events, as the weather was not always at its best. A special thanks must go to Mrs L Hyett of Hampshire ABF, Cannon P Bruinvels, Surrey ABF, Mr B Thomas Surrey ABF, Mr Curtis Bone and so many more who welcomed us to the events, and made us feel so at home. At the end of the day at Loseley Park, on Sunday because the Surrey and Hampshire Marine Cadets had worked so hard we held off from de rigging the attraction and allowed them to have some fun. (See inserted pictures, sorry we couldn’t put them all up).
So what is to come? Well on Friday 1st July we will be at The Medina School Summer fayre, being held at Medina school, Medina Road Cosham Portsmouth. The fayre starts at 3 pm and closes at 5pm and although open to the public it is mainly for the school children and parents.
On Saturday 2nd July we will be at the Hedge end Carnival. This is a really fun event. The theme this year is “crazy cartoons” with a procession, a funfair, cake competition, craft stalls, food and drink stalls, inflatable rides and lots to do and see. Not forgetting Battlefield South. So why not pop along and support the event. The Saturday events start at 12 midday ish and end at 5pm.
Closing the weekend on Sunday we will be at what was to be The Milton Park Family Fun Day, however due to circumstances beyond the organisers control the venue has had to be moved to the Playing Fields Of The Lord Nelson School, Dundas Lane, Portsmouth. Opening at 10 am and closing at 3 pm the even boasts all sorts of inflatable attractions, craft stalls, food and drink stalls, and not forgetting Battlefield South.
Although it would be nice to see you at all the events, realistically, we would be delighted to see you at any one of them.

We are proud include the following in our list of supported charities and initiatives
Portsmouth Dragon Boat Race 3rd and 4th October 2015
Posted by Mark | Filed under Blog, News, Next events
It coming and its coming soon! The postponed Portsmouth Dragon boat race organised by the Portsmouth & Southsea and Southsea Castle rotary clubs will be held at IBM’s Portsmouth North Harbour on 3rd and 4th October 2015.
The event was postponed earlier in the year due to blue algae in the water which we are assured has dissipated and as such is no longer a health issue. As always there will be lots for people to do besides watch the racing, including various types of stalls, Archery, inflatable attractions and Battlefield South. Also this is currently our last public event for this year, so if you don’t want to miss out you best come on down. The days start at 10 am and finish at about 4:30 pm each day, parking is free as is entrance for spectators. For more information about the event including entry into the competition visit their web site We look forward to seeing you there!
