Surrey Armed Forces Day 25 June 2017

The year is flying past, and we are already in the second half of June. That means next weekend is Armed Forces Day across the UK. This year (as last) we will be at the Surrey Armed Forces day. Being held at Loseley Park, Nr Guilford Surrey GU3  1HS.  Situated on the B3000 New Pond Road, the main entrance is in “Stakescorner road” and sign posted Loseley House. If you are planning to come as a very big group please be aware that Sandy Lane has a sharp hairpin bend and is not suitable for coaches.  The day starts at 9:30 am and is officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Guilford accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey at 11 am. IMG_8913There will be vehicle displays from two locally based Army regiments, Lots of historic and vintage military vehicles, various military re-enactor groups ( ranging from WW1 to the early 2000), Craft stalls, refreshments and not for getting Battlefield South. The show closes at 16:30 pm. Entrance and Parking is free although there will be some donation buckets at most of the stalls and displays. All proceeds will go to the Army Benevolent Fund (The Soldiers Charity). It really is a great day out and if you are not interested in the show there is always Loseley house and grounds to explore with it fine art collection, beautifully maintained gardens and grounds.

Abingdon Air and Country Show 2017

This week end is the Abingdon Air and Country Show 2017, and what a show it promises to be. There will be static aircraft on display, along with a three hour action packed Air display, including, Westland Wasp 1960s ex Royal Naval Helicopter, RF4 Motorglider aerobatic display, Antonov AN-2 Russian built transport x2, Great War Display Team (World War One types), P51 Mustang “Tall in the Saddle”, Calidus Autogyro . As always there is a  funfair with all kinds of rides, craft, food and drink stalls, military displays, re enactment displays,  Steam engines, and not forgetting  Battlefield South who will be there all day. The event starts at 10 am and closes at 5.30 pm. Steam engineParking is free and tickets for the show can be purchased in advance from their web site ( http://www.abingdonairandcountry.co.uk ), or at the gate on the day. It really is a great day out for the whole family.

New year Events

Well hasn’t time flown, it is that time of year again when we leave the St Mary's 2012corporate events and parties behind, and start going out and about to shows and events.  Because the Surrey heath Show and the Abingdon Air and country Shows have changed dates the May Bank holiday weekend isn’t as full as it normally is.  However we will still be at the St Mary’s Church community Fayre on the 1st May Bank Holiday Monday.

As always it is taking place in the ground of St Mary’s Church, Fratton, Portsmouth, and is in aid of the local community good causes and charities. With Fun fair rides, a beer ten, food and beverage stalls, craft areas, a show arena, and of course Battlefield South.  It opens at 10am and finishes at 4pm, and is a great day out for the whole family, and all for good causes.

AACS1Then after a couple of private events on the 14 May we will be at the Abingdon Air and country show. Tickets  for the show can be purchased in advance from their web site ( http://www.abingdonairandcountry.co.uk/ ), or at the gate on the day. Again this is a great day out for the whole family. Our last public event for 2016

We are now in the middle of September,Bordon school 2016 and (currently ) our last public event for 2016 is approaching rapidly. On the 25th  September we will be attending what is most likely the last summer fate of the year. It is being held at Bordon Junior  School, Budds Lane, Bordon, GU35 0JB. It promises to be a great day out for the whole family, with live music, BBQ, Beer tent, Cake stall, Candy floss, a tuck shop, Book Stall Inflatable slide Bungee Trampolines, Iron age experience, craft ten a Grand prize raffle draw and of course Battlefield South. So why not come along and have a great afternoon.  With an Apple ipad  Pro as first prize it could be a day out well worth taking!

SERP 2000 Fun Day

If you didn’t manage to get to see us at the Hamworthy club in frontage 2Clanford Magna last weekend, don’t worry. This Sunday 21 August 2016 we will be at the SERP 2000 Fun Day, being held at Sherfield English Sports Field, Steplake Lane in Sherfield near Romsey. (SO51 6JR). Situated on the A 27 between Sootash and Whiteparish. It is a great village with lovely pub (The Hatchet Inn) and lots of old charm beauty. The Summer Fun day starts at 12:00 and closes at 5pm. There will be art and araft, along with food and beverages stalls, Inflatable attractions, music, dancing, displays and a grand raffle. Did I mention Battlefield South will also be there!
