The new season is kicking off

Only two weeks to go and the new season of shows and events will have started. Hopefully by this time in two weeks (5th May 2018) we will be set up and drinking a cold beer (or hot coffee) At the Abingdon Air and Country Show. The Show itself is on the 6th May, with doors opening at 8 am and the show starting at 10am. Everything must be closed by 5:30 pm to allow for stalls to depart
by the time stipulated by the MoD. There will be all the usual attractions of craft stalls, food and drink stalls, fairground rides, inflatable attractions and of course Battlefield South. As always there is a static ground display of aircraft, as well as a flying display which lasts several hours, with far too many aircraft to mention, (or click here) plus a parachute display by jump4heros. Always well worth a visit, and I believe that the T62 tank ride may be back this year. For tickets click here!
But that isn’t the Bank Holiday weekend finished and far from it. On
Monday the 7th May we will be at the St Mary’s Church Community Fayre in Fratton Portsmouth. We have lost count how many of these we have attended but it is a great way to support the local community in Fratton and Portsea. Starting at 10 am and closing at 4:30 pm there will be inflatable attractions, fairground rides, food and drink stalls, (including the famous beer tent) craft stalls and Battlefield South. It is always a great day out, so if you are in the area why not come down, support the local area, and have loads of fun in the process.

Down time for part of the team

Being the Christmas period, a tad cold for most clients and as we have been working hard, we thought we might make the most of the down time and have some R & R, prior to the next set of events in the New Year. Also as we work with laser weapons we naturally thought of shooting, and took advantage of the time to get some shotgun action in. So despite the bad weather we took off early through sleet and snow to get to our destination nice and early. Arriving early we had a coffee, the off to collect some ammunition and to the first shooting location. Then it was lunch and off to the second location. We really had a great day thanks to Mr Steve P, Mr Ben P, and their family, hosting William and myself, on their family land. Really looking forward to another session soon!

Bratton at War 2017

With September looming ever closer, so does our last public event for 2017. On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September we will be at the “Bratton at War 2017”. Being held at BA13 4TT, just off the B3098 near Bratton in Wiltshire, the event is run by the “Wiltshire Home guard” (a living history group) and the Wiltshire MVT (Military Vehicle Trust). It is a step back in time with living history exhibits and demonstrations by re enactors, vintage military vehicles from both sides of WW2, including everything from Jeeps to tanks of all sorts. Music, Dance, Food, and a host of VW and other camper vans. In addition to this there will be trade stalls and entertainment for the whole family including Battlefield South. For those wishing to stay for the whole week end there is camping available and entertainment on the Friday and Saturday evening including a bar. For prices, pitches and information please contact the event organisers. For day visitors entrance is £5 for Adults, and £3 for Children, OAP’s and those in period costumes. There is plenty of parking which I believe is free. The whole event is non profit making and proceeds will go the Wiltshire Air ambulance. So if you come along you will be helping a great cause, possibly learning about the life and times of WW2 as well as having fun.
