With September looming ever closer, so does our last public event for 2017. On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September we will be at the “Bratton at War 2017”. Being held at BA13 4TT, just off the B3098 near Bratton in Wiltshire, the event is run by the “Wiltshire Home guard” (a living history group) and the Wiltshire MVT (Military Vehicle Trust). It is a step back in time with living history exhibits and demonstrations by re enactors, vintage military vehicles from both sides of WW2, including everything from Jeeps to tanks of all sorts. Music, Dance, Food, and a host of VW and other camper vans. In addition to this there will be trade stalls and entertainment for the whole family including Battlefield South. For those wishing to stay for the whole week end there is camping available and entertainment on the Friday and Saturday evening including a bar. For prices, pitches and information please contact the event organisers. For day visitors entrance is £5 for Adults, and £3 for Children, OAP’s and those in period costumes. There is plenty of parking which I believe is free. The whole event is non profit making and proceeds will go the Wiltshire Air ambulance. So if you come along you will be helping a great cause, possibly learning about the life and times of WW2 as well as having fun.
