Surrey Armed Forces Day 25 June 2017

The year is flying past, and we are already in the second half of June. That means next weekend is Armed Forces Day across the UK. This year (as last) we will be at the Surrey Armed Forces day. Being held at Loseley Park, Nr Guilford Surrey GU3 1HS. Situated on the B3000 New Pond Road, the main entrance is in “Stakescorner road” and sign posted Loseley House. If you are planning to come as a very big group please be aware that Sandy Lane has a sharp hairpin bend and is not suitable for coaches. The day starts at 9:30 am and is officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Guilford accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Surrey at 11 am. There will be vehicle displays from two locally based Army regiments, Lots of historic and vintage military vehicles, various military re-enactor groups ( ranging from WW1 to the early 2000), Craft stalls, refreshments and not for getting Battlefield South. The show closes at 16:30 pm. Entrance and Parking is free although there will be some donation buckets at most of the stalls and displays. All proceeds will go to the Army Benevolent Fund (The Soldiers Charity). It really is a great day out and if you are not interested in the show there is always Loseley house and grounds to explore with it fine art collection, beautifully maintained gardens and grounds.
