A months rain in just a few hours, and that was just last Sunday. So a big thanks to all who ventured out Sunday afternoon to support the Sky Balloons event. I hope you stayed dryer than we did.
But don’t let that put you off, we are out and about again this weekend. This time at the Family Fun Day being held at the The Hamworthy Club, Magna road, Canford Magna, Dorset. The profits will go to local charities and local area to help the community. There will be stalls or all kinds, with food drink, arts and crafts, Pepper Pig, Kids wonder play area, BBQ live entertainment and Battlefield South. The events starts at 11 am and due to finish at 6pm, but don’t leave it too late or you will miss all the fun.
Moving on from this weekend, here is just a quick reminder that we will be at the Old Sarum Air Show, on 12 & 13 September. 
There will be a whole host of aircraft including Spitfires, Hurricanes, The Sally B B17 Bomber, Autogyro, the Great war display team, and much more. However more than that, this is the last show on the south coast which has been able to book the Avro Vulcan XH558
and therefore, may be the last opportunity to see this amazing war bird on the south coast ever! As after this season it is doubtful that she will ever fly again. This is due to parts and support is being withdrawn by the companies which keep her going. We have also been asked to remind you that this is a ticket only show, and as tickets are limited I would recommend you get your tickets now. As they will be in short supply and not ticket means no entry on the day. For more information go to their website www.oldsarumairshow.com.

Sky Balloons & Canford Magna

Are you going to be in or around Eastleigh on Sunday 23 August, looking for some family fun?
Why not come along to Eastleigh recreation park, and support the Sky Balloons, event. There will be something for all the family, including food and drink stalls, arts and crafts, Inflatable attractions, Music and of course Battlefield South.
The Hamworthy Club Family Fun Day
If you are in the Canford magna area on Sunday 30 August you will have another chance to play Battlefield South at the Family Fun day at Magna Road, Canford Magna. Again there will be something for all ages including Pepper Pig for the young ones, inflatable attractions for the slightly older ones, and then for the big kids Battlefield South. Entry is £1 free for under 5 year olds. So come along and support you local event.
Don’t forget the 12 and 13 of September as we will be at the Old Sarum Air Show.

The Old Sarum Airshow 12 and 13 Sept

On the 12 and 13 September 2015 the Old Sarum Air Show will be reaching for the sky. They have lots of flying attractions, although I am not at liberty to announce them all just yet, there will be the B17 ‘Sally B’ Boeing Flying Fortress, Hawker Hurricane AE977 Mk1, Supermarine Spitfire HF Mk1X and Currently for the Saturday only the top of the shop, The Mighty Hunter – AVRO Vulcan XH558 in what is most likely it’s last season. There will be ground based entertainment to entertain all ages including Battlefield South. However it is a ticket only affair so if you want to go to either watch the show or play with Battlefield South you will need to purchase your tickets in advance. You will also need to be quick, as there are limited numbers available, and I understand that they are going fast. Tickets are available at http://www.oldsarumairshow.com/ click on the menu icon top right, then on Buy tickets at the bottom of the drop down list.
So if you don’t want to miss a great weekend of flying displays and ground displays get your tickets for either day or why not both. Remember no ticket no entry on the day.

What a day with the Dreadnoughts

What a day we had with Portsmouth Dreadnoughts and the Back-Up charity. There was over £2000 raised on the day for the charity, (approximately £3250 including other donations) plus the bonus of the Dreadnoughts beating the Conquers 28- 0. So a “very big” thank you to all who turned up on the day, donated via just giving, and supported the event and the Dreadnoughts team.
Our next public event is not until 23 August, which is at Eastleigh recreation park (near the shopping centre) to help support the Sky Balloons event. There is something for the whole family, including Food, Arts , Crafts, Inflatable attractions and of course Battlefield South.
Then on 30th August we will be attending the Hamworthy Club Family Fun day, being held at Magna Road, Canford Magna, BH21 3AP . the event starts at 11 am and runs until 6 pm. There will be refreshments , a food market, Arts and crafts, inflatable’s, Battlefield South, Pepper pig and much more. Entrance is £1 and free for under 5 year olds.
