Hopeful for dry weather next weekend

Yesterday was a bit wet, and to be honest didn’t go quite as planned. So many thanks to those who braved the thunderstorms, and rain to support Battlefield South, and The Armed Forces at The Aldershot Military Festival (The Army Show) 2014.
For those who were unable to travel to Aldershot, don’t worry next week end is planned to be just as fun packed, but a little closer. On Saturday 5 July Battlefield South will be at the Hedge End Summer Carnival. The carnival procession starts at 14:15 hours (2.15 pm) from St John’s Road, but the stalls at Greta Park Upper Northam Road, will be open much earlier. There is live music, lots of stalls, Bouncy castles, and alike and fireworks at the end of the day. Entry is £1 for adults and 50p for children. Then On Sunday 6 July Battlefield South will be at the Merchistoun Hall, Horndean for their Summer Fair. Again there are lot of activities, with Bouncy castles, craft stalls, Food stalls, and battlefield South.

The Aldershot Military Festival (The Army Show)

You won’t want to miss this week ends event! Battlefield South are in Aldershot the home of the British Army for the Aldershot Military Festival, (The Army Show). The show which started on Monday, with 
various events and activities, culminates with a public open day on Saturday 28th June. Entrance is free, however traders may charge for their services and products. There will be a mass of displays, stalls, military equipment, including lots of armoured vehicles, weapons, and Battlefield South. The exact equipment we will be taking up (other than our usual MP 7’s and P 90’s) is currently a secret. So if you want to find out come and visit us at arena 1. The show is open from 10:00 hours to 18:00 hours.

Some dates for your diary

June is rapidly coming to an end, and July will soon be upon us, (wow this year is flashing past). So to keep you up to speed and ensure you know where we are here are some more dates for your diary.
This week end 21 June we will be at the Titchfield Summer Fair. This year the Fair is celebrating the Bicentennial of the Titchfield Carnival 1814-2014 and 50 years of the Titchfield Community Association. As always it is being held on Barry’s meadow just off west street, Titchfield, and will be hosting lots of stalls and entertainment. There will be a ”fun bus”, face painting, craft stalls, music in the evening, and of course Battlefield South. The day’s events start at 10 am, and end at around 5 pm. However don’t forget that there is a vintage car rally and further events on the Sunday.
Don’t forget, if you are in the Cosham area on Friday 27 June between 3:30pm and 5pm, Medina School are holding their annual Fete. As usual there will be bouncy castles, cake stalls, crazy golf, spin the wheel, and lots more.
Looking for a great day out, and want to support the Forces, then you could do worse than come and see the Army at it’s home in Aldershot. Yes the Army show is back and taking over Aldershot garrison. The show lasts all week, but entry for the public is mainly on the Saturday. With displays from the Red devils, lots of military equipment, including armoured fighting vehicles, trucks, artillery pieces, helicopters and much much more. The day’s events start at 10am and go no to 5 pm on Saturday 28 June. It is looking to be massive and of course Battlefield South will be there. Additionally we will be showing off some extra weapons, other than our usual MP7’s and P90’s so why not come along for the day, and show your support. http://www.armyshow.co.uk/
Moving in to July and we are into a very busy week end. On Saturday 5th July we will be attending the Hedge end Carnival. As well as Battlefield South there will be stalls, bouncy castles, hog roasts, sweet concessions, inflatable assault courses, vintage vehicles and music. Week end off (as if)

Despite our best efforts we have been unable to secure an alternative event for you this week end, after the cancellation of the dragon boat races at Winsor Dorney this week end.
However on the bright side, it was a tad damp this morning, (or so i am told) and there is always next weekend (Sunday 15 June 2014) when we will be at the Portsmouth Scouts event, on Southsea Castle Field. The activities start at about 09:30 (9.30am) with a Volleyball competition running throughout the day, art and craft stalls, food, drink, music and don’t forget Battlefield South. So if you are getting withdrawal symptoms or just would like to have a couple of laser battle games, with replica weapons come and join us.
